Report: North Carolina will hire former Texas coach Mack Brown to replace Larry Fedora

Update (Nov. 26, 8:37 a.m.): It appears Mack Brown will indeed replace Larry Fedora at North Carolina. InsideCarolina reports that Brown will return to coaching and lead the Tar Heels next season. Brown coached at North Carolina for 10 years before being hired by Texas in 1997.

Former Texas coach Mack Brown could be eyeing a return to coaching, according to multiple reports.

On Sunday, Tom Luginbill, an ESPN college football analyst, and Kirk Bohls, a longtime columnist at the Austin American-Statesman, each indicated that Brown could be the next man in line for the vacant head coaching job at North Carolina, where he was the head coach at for 10 seasons prior to being hired at Texas in December 1997.
