AUSTIN -- Unusual offsetting face-mask penalties immediately preceded Texas’ first touchdown against Iowa State on Saturday.

Freshman quarterback Shane Buechele had apparently found Armanti Foreman on a 37-yard scoring pass early in the third quarter. But Foreman straight-armed a defender going into the end zone, getting a piece of the face mask. The Iowa State defender also grabbed Foreman’s mask in the tackle attempt.
