Projected starter among Texas defenders injured in first fall scrimmage

Three Texas Longhorns defenders were added to the injury list following the first scrimmage of fall practice.

On Sunday, Texas announced that freshman linebacker Ayodele Adeoye and freshman safety DeMarvion Overshown each sustained knee injuries during the scrimmage, while senior cornerback Davante Davis suffered a hamstring injury.

“They are currently being treated and evaluated, and an update will be sent when we have more information,” the release stated.

After being promoted last season in place of a suspended Holton Hill, Davis started the final four games of the 2017 season at cornerback to bring his career total to 14 in 34 appearances.
