Player costs in NIL era forces Texas football to raise ticket prices for fans

The Associated Press recently reported that the Texas Longhorns have been forced to raise ticket costs by $13 this year as a result of player costs in the name, image, and likeness era.

It was a point Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte raised during his town hall last week. The program is also anticipating the “final approval of a landmark $2.8 billion lawsuit settlement that lays the foundation for players to receive money directly from their schools,” according to the AP.

From the AP: “Texas will have nearly $30 million in new costs and about 200 new scholarships across all sports, Del Conte said.
