Oklahoma State, Wickline settle lawsuit

AUSTIN — Oklahoma State has settled its lawsuit against former Texas assistant coach Joe Wickline, ending a contentious legal battle that threatened to put Longhorns coach Charlie Strong and his players back on the witness stand.

OSU attorney Sean Breen confirmed Tuesday that the school is dropping the lawsuit after coming to an agreement with Wickline, who OSU claimed owed almost $600,000 due to breach of contract. The dispute centered around whether Wickline called plays at UT, which dismissed him earlier this month after two seasons as offensive line coach.

Terms of the settlement were not immediately available.
