AUSTIN — On the college football resale market, few tickets this year are more expensive than those for Texas’ season opener at Notre Dame. And even fans who shell out for seat might not be getting what they thought they paid for.
Notre Dame officials said they’ve received evidence of counterfeit tickets being sold for the Fighting Irish’s Sept. 5 game against the Longhorns. Most notably, Notre Dame said all tickets printed on Ticketmaster stock are counterfeit.
On StubHub, UT-Notre Dame tickets ranged from $450 to $2,930. According to Vivid Seats, UT-Notre Dame tickets are the second-most expensive college football seats on the resale market, trailing only the Irish’s game against Boston College at Fenway Park.
