AUSTIN, TX – Texas softball head coach Mike White knew the type of pitcher Mac Morgan was before she arrived on the Forty Arces. And, during Texas' 8-0 win over UIW in five innings, everyone in attendance at McCombs Field knew, too.
After throwing 103 pitches in 6.1 innings against Omaha on Friday, Feb. 17, Morgan (3-0) threw 52 less pitches on Sunday afternoon as the Arizona State transfer threw five innings of one-hit softball en route to earning her second win on her home diamond this season.
Throughout those five innings of work, Morgan struck out four — two shy of tying her season high set against the Mavericks two days prior — and did not issue a walk, marking her third pitching appearance this season without issuing a free pass.
