AUSTIN, TX – The friendly confines of Red & Charline McCombs Field were just that to Texas on Friday night as the homestanding Longhorns picked up a pair of victories on the day with a 9-3 win over Tennessee State before coming from behind to knock off RV/No. 24 Louisiana 6-2.
The longball factored into both Texas wins after Leighann Goode connected on a 1-0 pitch in the bottom of the second inning against Tennessee State for a two-run home run — her fourth home run in as many games — to highlight a five-run frame.
