AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 9/10 Texas women's basketball team returned to the win column Sunday as it posted a commanding 93-58 nonconference victory over UTRGV inside the Frank Erwin Center.
After a disappointing loss to Texas Tech in their Big 12 Conference home opener on Wednesday, the Longhorns (11-2 overall, 1-1 Big 12) regained their footing offensively as they turned in their second-highest scoring output of the season.
With the win, UT finishes their nonconference slate with a 10-1 record, their best mark since the 2015-16 season (11-0).
Junior guard Aliyah Matharu paved the way offensively finishing with a game-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting in just 19 minutes on the floor.
