ARLINGTON, Texas – No. 9 Texas Baseball lost 8-1 to No. 6 Ole Miss in the finale of the State Farm College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field on Monday.
The Longhorns (0-3) will turn their attention to opening the home slate at UFCU Disch-Falk Field with a four-game series against BYU that gets started on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Kolby Kubichek pitched five innings and allowed two runs on four hits. Kubichek struck out seven batters and did not issue a walk in his first start of the season. Reliever Justin Eckhardt pitched two scoreless innings with one strikeout in his first outing of the year.
