AUSTIN, Texas - Crayton Carrozza earned his first-ever Big 12 Performer of the Week award after a record-setting weekend in Boston.
Carrozza and the No. 8 men's track team traveled to the John Thomas Terrier Classic and set the tone early as the first Longhorn in competition. The senior broke Jonathan Jones' 800m Texas program record with a winning time of 1:46.28.
He not only set a personal best in the event, but also the Boston University facility record. The reigning Big 12 indoor 800m champion currently leads the NCAA with his time and ranks fourth in the world.
