SPOKANE, Wash. — An incredible ride and a whole lot of Texas Fight.
The No. 6/7 Texas Women's Basketball team saw its 2021-22 season come to close Sunday evening inside the Spokane Arena as it fell to No. 2/2 Stanford 59-50 in the Elite 8 round of the NCAA Tournament.
With the loss, the Longhorns conclude the season with a 29-7 record overall, marking the most wins in a season since 2015-16.
In what was a wire-to-wire defensive clash, the No. 2-seed Longhorns battled the No. 1-seed Cardinal to the final buzzer but couldn't generate enough offense down the stretch to come out on top.
