LUBBOCK, Texas — Graduate guard Marcus Carr registered a team-high 23 points, but No. 6/5 Texas (20-6, 9-4 Big 12) fell 74-67 at Texas Tech (14-12, 3-10 Big 12) on Monday night in United Supermarkets Arena. The Longhorns rallied from a 13-point deficit in the second half to tie the score with just over four minutes remaining but could not take the lead down the stretch.
Carr converted 7-of-15 field goals, including 5-of-9 from three-point range, and added six assists against just one turnover in 38 minutes. Senior Dylan Disu tallied 11 points while converting 4-of-8 field goals, including a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point range, and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds in 24 minutes.
