AUSTIN, Texas — On Wednesday evening at the Frank Erwin Center, senior center Imani Boyette scored a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds as No. 6 Texas (6-0) earned its second consecutive victory over a top-10 opponent by handing No. 9 Mississippi State (5-1) its first loss of the season, 53-47.
Boyette posted her third double-double of the season while tacking on two blocks in 33 minutes of play. She is currently averaging a team-best 14.2 points per game this year.
"This is a really good win for our program and our team because I have a lot of respect for [Mississippi State head coach] Vic [Schaefer] and the way he runs his program," Texas head coach Karen Aston said.
