The Texas Longhorns remain in the mix for one of the nation’s top 2021 wide receiver, as Plant City (Fla.) standout Mario Williams included the Horns among his top five schools released on Monday morning.
The other remaining contenders for the 5’10, 165-pounder include Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Oklahoma.
Texas entered the recruitment of Williams back in April with an offer after the speedster recorded 51 catches for 903 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore. It’s notable that the Horns made the cut for him despite not currently having an offensive coordinator or any wide receivers coaches.
