HOUSTON, Texas – The No. 5/2 Texas track and field program claimed three events on the first day of the Tom Tellez Invite back at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
Junior Isabella Coscetti won the women's pole vault after clearing 4.03m (13-2.50) on her first attempt. Sophomore Sophia Kowalski needed three attempts to clear the height and finished second overall. In the men's pole vault, freshman Sam Abati cleared 5.08m (16-8) on his first attempt to finish as the top collegian and was second overall.
The Longhorns later swept the 400-meter dash after freshman Mackenzie Collins won the timed final with a time of 53.
