SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Members of the No. 4 Texas track and field program broke the DMR indoor record in its opening race of the season.
The men's DMR team of Cruz Gomez, Jonathan Jones, Yusuf Bizimana and Crayton Carrozza broke a two-year program record with a time of 9:22.74, shedding nearly a second off the previous Texas best.
Gomez opened the relay splitting 2:55.8 in the 1200, followed by Jones' time of 45.0 in the 400m. Bizimana ran the 800m in 1:45.6, while Carrozza ran the final leg of the 1600m in 3:55.
