After winning five straight championship games, the No. 3 Texas Longhorns have earned the right to play in the big one, punching their ticket to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game against the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs.
On Sunday afternoon, the Horns are 2.5-point favorites over the Bulldogs, according to FanDuel, in the rematch of October’s massive tilt between Texas and Georgia in Austin, a convincing 30-15 win by head coach Kirby Smart’s team.
Since then, however, the two teams have taken rather divergent paths. As Texas has ripped off road wins over Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and Texas A&M along with home wins over Florida and Kentucky, Georgia lost to Ole Miss 28-10 and struggled to beat Georgia Tech this week, surviving the Yellow Jackets in eight overtimes.
