LUBBOCK, Texas—Timely hitting and clutch performances from the bullpen propelled No. 24 Texas Baseball (33-18, 14-7 Big 12) to a 7-5 series-clinching win over No. 9 Texas Tech (35-14, 12-9) on Sunday afternoon at Rip Griffin Park.
Texas Tech plated two in the opening frame, but the Longhorns offense responded right away. In the top of the second, Ryan Reynolds reached on his team-high 13th hit by pitch of the season and Masen Hibbeler doubled to put two in scoring position. After a wild pitch plated Reynolds, Tate Shaw lifted a sac fly to center to tie the game at 2-2.
