AUSTIN, Texas — Senior Marcus Carr registered a team-high 14 points to pace No. 23/22 Texas (14-5, 4-3 Big 12) to a 56-51 victory against Oklahoma State (10-8, 3-4 Big 12) on Saturday afternoon at the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns, who entered the game leading the nation in scoring defense (55.2 ppg), improved to 14-0 this season when holding their opponents below 60 points.
Carr hit 2-of-5 three-pointers and was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line while adding four rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes. Senior Tre Mitchell posted 12 points (2-4 threes), and senior Timmy Allen tallied 11 points (5-9 FG), eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot in 31 minutes.
