AUSTIN, Texas – Coy Cobb was brilliant on the mound, pitching seven scoreless innings, but No. 23 Texas Baseball lost 4-0 to Purdue in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
A pair of base runners reached off of Cobb in the first inning, but then the freshman retired 12-straight batters until a two-out double in the fifth inning. Cobb got a strikeout to end the fifth with no damage done. He finished with two strikeouts in the game.
Cobb managed to keep it scoreless through the sixth after getting out of a jam with two runners on and one out.
