AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football junior DB Jahdae Barron has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. It marked the first conference honor of Barron's career.
An Austin, Texas native, Barron recorded his first career interception in Saturday's comeback victory over UTSA at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, returning it for a 44-yard touchdown, the first pick-six of his career. He added six tackles (three solo) in the 41-20 win over the Roadrunners.
The Longhorns travel to Texas Tech on Saturday for the first road game of the season.
