It largely wasn’t pretty, but in what became a defensive slugfest, the Texas Longhorns defense forced a key fourth quarter fourth down stop in the red zone and the offense followed up by moving the ball enough to kill the clock for Texas to outlast West Virginia, 17-13.
In the immediate sense, how ugly the win was doesn’t matter. What matters is Texas entered at 4-2 (3-2) and inn control of its Big 12 title destiny, and that remains true for the now-5-2 (4-2) Longhorns, which will now enjoy another bye week.
