AUSTIN, Texas — Graduate guard Ithiel Horton posted his first collegiate career double-double with 13 points and a career-best 10 rebounds to lead No. 20/24 Texas (11-2) to a 79-62 win against UTA (6-7) on Monday afternoon in Moody Center. This marked the final non-conference contest of the regular season for the Longhorns.
Horton, who moved into the starting lineup with the absence of guard Tyrese Hunter (sick), converted 3-of-7 three-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws while adding one assist, one blocked shot and one steal in a season-best 36 minutes. Graduate forward Kadin Shedrick tallied 17 points (5-9 FG, season-high 7-8 FT), seven points and two blocks in 27 minutes, and graduate forward Brock Cunningham set his career high in blocks (3) and tied his career high in rebounds (11).
