AUSTIN, Texas — Senior Timmy Allen recorded a season-high 24 points to lead No. 20/20 Texas (18-6, 7-4 Big 12) to a thrilling 79-76 victory against No. 8/8 Kansas (19-4, 8-2 Big 12) on Monday night at the Frank Erwin Center. This marked UT's third-consecutive home win over a ranked opponent, as the Longhorns had previously defeated No. 18/20 Tennessee and No. 20/22 Iowa State.
Allen converted 11-of-17 field goals and grabbed nine rebounds in 30 minutes, and junior Tre Mitchell posted 17 points while hitting 8-of-8 free throws in 22 minutes.
