After the No. 20 Texas Longhorns shut down all team activities on Sunday after three players tested positive for COVID-19, Saturday’s game in Lawrence was endangered.
On Thursday, the school announced the cancelation of that game due to the shutdown in accordance with the Big 12’s game interruption guidelines. It’s declared a “no contest” and will not be rescheduled.
Throughout the week, six more players and 13 total staff members have tested positive and the team resumed some limited outdoor activities on Wednesday before once again pausing all activities, according to a statement from athletics director Chris Del Conte.
