KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - No. 2 Texas fell to No. 11 Tennessee on Sunday afternoon after a hard-fought and physical contest between both teams. The Lady Vols pulled away in the final quarter to end the game 82-to-75.
The Longhorns had 40 points in the paint, with 16 points coming from the bench. The team's total free throw percentage was 84.2 percent. Senior Ariel Atkins scored 21 points and tabbed four rebounds and three steals. Junior Lashann Higgs followed second in the total points count with 15.
The first points of the game came from Tennessee freshman Rennia Davis on the charity stripe.
