With a 35-0 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament’s first round on the line, the No. 2-seed Texas Longhorns defeated the Texas A&M Aggies 3-1 on Thursday at Gregory Gym in the Austin Regional, overcoming a first-set defeat.
Texas hit .241 compared to .131 for Texas A&M as the Longhorns recovered from 10 attacking errors in the first set with star outside hitter Madisen Skinner recording a game-high 20 kills and middle blocker Asjia O’Neal was virtually flawless in recording 14 kills with no attacking errors for a .538 hitting percentage and a game-high 10 blocks in a dominating performance at the net.
