No. 2 Men’s Golf climbs five spots after round two at NCAA Championship

Sophomore Scottie Scheffler shot a second-round 69 to lead the Horns on day two.

EUGENE, Ore. — No. 2 Texas Men's Golf carded a second-round 281 during the second round to climb five spots at the NCAA Championship on Saturday.

The Horns finished the day in a tie for seventh, seven strokes out of the lead.

Sophomore Scottie Scheffler led the Longhorns on the second day with a 1-under 69.

Scheffler made two bogeys on the front nine, but made three birdies on the first five holes at the turn. He followed with a bogey on 16, but closed the round with a birdie on 18 to climb 28 spots and tie for 24th.
