AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball's Cam Williams has been named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week, while Ty Madden was named the Big 12's Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
In five games during the week, Williams batted .400 (8-of-18) with five extra-base hits and eight RBIs in contests against Mississippi State and BYU. He smashed three home runs and two doubles, finishing the week with a 1.11 slugging percentage.
Madden pitched seven innings of one-hit baseball while striking out a career-high 11 batters against BYU.
