AUSTIN, Texas – No. 19 Texas Baseball's Ty Madden was named the National Pitcher of the Week by both Perfect Game/Rawlings and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Tuesday.
The Cypress, Texas, native was already announced as the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week.
Madden pitched a complete game shutout with 14 strikeouts against Houston last week, allowing just two hits and four total base runners. In his second career complete game, The Cypress, Texas, native set a new career high with the 14 strikeouts after fanning a career-best 11 hitters the previous week against BYU.
