WACO, Texas – No. 19 Texas Baseball held on for a thrilling 7-6 win over Baylor to take the series over the Bears on Sunday at Baylor Ballpark.
The Longhorns (26-12, 8-4) trailed 5-3 before scoring three runs in the seventh and one run in the eighth to finish off the Bears.
Eric Kennedy went 3-for-5 with a double and a crucial solo home run in the top of the eighth. Jared Thomas also had a three-hit day, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
Lebarron Johnson Jr. pitched the final innings out of the bullpen, giving up just one run and striking out four batters to pick up his first save.
