ARLINGTON, Texas — Left-handed pitcher Luke Harrison shut down Ole Miss (1-1) and Texas (1-1) used a seven-run fourth to run-rule the Rebels, 10-0, Saturday evening at Globe Life Field.
The win marked the Longhorn's first victory under head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
Harrison (1-0) retired 16 of the first 19 batters he faced, recording a career-high 6.1 innings and six strikeouts. The redshirt junior surrendered only two hits and one walk in just his third career start.
After an early pitchers' duel, TExas broke through with seven runs on six hits to chase Ole Miss starter Riley Maddox (0-1) with one out in the fourth.
