HOUSTON, Texas – No. 19 Texas Baseball beat Houston, 8-2, on Sunday to win the series over the Cougars at Schroeder Park. Kolby Kubichek pitched six solid innings to earn his second win of the season.
The Longhorns (7-5) took advantage of 10 walks issued by Houston pitching, including four in the top of the first inning.
Kubichek struck out a career high nine batters in his longest career outing of six innings. He allowed only five hits and was charged with just one run.
The Longhorns took advantage of four walks and an error in the top of the first inning to grab a 4-0 lead.
