AUSTIN, Texas — Senior Marcus Carr recorded a season-high 20 points to pace No. 17/18 Texas (11-2, 1-0 Big 12) to a 74-59 victory against West Virginia (11-2, 0-1 Big 12) on Saturday afternoon at the Frank Erwin Center. The contest marked the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams.
Carr converted 7-of-11 field goals, including 2-of-5 threes, and 4-of-5 free throws to go along with four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 34 minutes. Senior Courtney Ramey tallied a season-high 15 points, four rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes, and senior Andrew Jones added 14 points while hitting 3-of-6 three-pointers and 5-of-5 free throws in 26 minutes.
