LUBBOCK, Texas — Joanne Allen-Taylor registered a team-high 14 points Wednesday evening as No. 16/17 Texas captured a hard-fought 61-56 Big 12 Conference road victory over Texas Tech inside the Lady Raiders' United Supermarkets Arena.
With the win, the Longhorns snap a three-game skid and improve to 16-6 overall on the season with a 6-5 mark in Big 12 competition. Tech drops to 9-13, 2-9.
Trailing 22-18 after the first quarter of action, Texas outscored the Lady Raiders 14-9 in the second quarter to take a 32-31 lead into the half.
Both teams traded blows in the second half and Tech took a 42-40 lead with 8:16 to play.
