AMES, Iowa – Junior Ariel Atkins led all scorers with a career-high 25 points as No. 16/16 Texas Women's Basketball (8-4, 2-0 Big 12 Conference) defeated Iowa State (9-4, 0-2 Big 12 Conference) inside the Hilton Coliseum on Sunday afternoon, 75-68.
This marks the first time in program history the Longhorns have won in Ames back-to-back. Iowa State leads the all-time series over Texas, 17-14, but the Longhorns have captured the last three straight contests.
"Iowa State plays a style that is difficult to guard, and it tested our discipline," said Texas head coach Karen Aston.
