No. 16 Baseball clinches series over Cal Poly with shutout

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 16 Texas Baseball pitched its second-consecutive shutout, taking down Cal Poly 6-0 to clinch the series on Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Longhorns (5-1), who pitched back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2022 against Alabama, will go for the series win over the Mustangs on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Charlie Hurley pitched six shutout innings, scattering four hits and striking out three batters to pick up his first win of the season. He induced 12 total groundball outs and rolled up one double play.

Jared Thomas went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, while Max Belyeu went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer of his own.
