AUSTIN, TX – A season after winning the Big 12 Conference regular season championship, The University of Texas women's soccer program was selected by the conference's head coaches to finish third this season as the league announced its preseason coaches poll Thursday morning.
League newcomer BYU was selected to finish first after receiving 156 total points, including a conference-high six first-place votes. TCU was the only other program above the Longhorns after the Horned Frogs earned 155 total points and three first-place votes.
West Virginia (132) and Texas Tech (117) rounded out the top five, before UCF (115), Oklahoma State (100), Kansas (83), Oklahoma (68) and Houston (47) made up spots six through 10.
