HOUSTON, Texas – No. 15 Texas Baseball put together a ninth-inning rally but fell to No. 3 LSU, 6-3, on Friday night in the Astros Foundation College Class at Minute Maid Park.
The Longhorns (7-2) played in front of the seventh-largest regular season college baseball crowd ever with 24,927 in attendance. The announced crowd was also the second-highest single day attendance number in Astros Foundation College Classic history.
Peyton Powell had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead Texas offensively. Kimble Schuessler, who had to come off the bench in the fourth, hit his first home run of the season to account for the Longhorns only run of the game.
