Temple wide receiver Quentin Johnston will still play his college football in the Big 12, but it won’t be for the Texas Longhorns as originally planned, as the 6’4, 180-pounder flipped to the TCU Horned Frogs on Monday evening and will sign with head coach Gary Patterson’s program on Wednesday.
The Horned Frogs were a serious contender for Johnston when he made his original decision in the middle of August. After head coach Tom Herman reassigned offensive coordinator Tim Beck and wide receivers coach Corby Meekins while firing Johnston’s primary recruiter, Drew Mehringer, there were rumors that Johnston was reconsidering his pledge.
