AUSTIN, Texas – No. 12/13 Texas Women's Basketball (16-4, 10-0 Big 12 Conference) capped its first perfect January since 1989 as it pushed past No. 22/22 West Virginia (16-6, 4-6 Big 12 Conference) inside the Erwin Center on Sunday afternoon, 69-54.
The Longhorns are now on a 14-win streak and boast their best opening conference record in program history.
Texas leads the all-times series over West Virginia, 8-5, and holds a perfect 5-0 record when the game is played in Austin. Today's win marks the Longhorns' second-straight season sweep over the Mountaineers.
"Neither team would probably say it was the best executed game offensively," said Texas head coach Karen Aston.
