AUSTIN, Texas — Freshman Dillon Mitchell and senior Timmy Allen each recorded a double-double to pace No. 12/12 Texas (2-0) to an 82-31 win over Houston Christian (0-2) on Thursday evening before a sellout crowd at Moody Center. The 31 points allowed is tied for the second-fewest points allowed by the Longhorns in program history. Texas previously held Texas State to 27 points on Dec. 13, 2014.
Mitchell tallied 10 points (5-5 FG) and a game-high 12 rebounds (eight offensive) along with a blocked shot in 17 minutes, while Allen registered 10 points and 10 boards (five offensive) in 17 minutes.
