AUSTIN, Texas – Following a weekend sweep of No. 2 LSU, Texas outfielders Austin Todd and Eric Kennedy have been recognized by the Big 12 Conference for their performances. Todd, a junior outfielder, has been named the league's player of the week and Kennedy, a freshman outfielder, was named newcomer of the week.
Todd played in four games during the week and batted .357 with a homer and seven RBI. The Longhorns' leading run-producer played the role of walk-off hero on Sunday to complete the sweep of LSU. Todd scored at least one run in every game of the LSU series and had multiple hits in two of the three games.
