AUSTIN, Texas — The 12th-ranked University of Texas baseball team (12-1) scored in each of the first four innings, cruising to an 8-3 series-securing win over Santa Clara (7-6) on Saturday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns plated seven runs through four frames, highlighted by four RBI doubles.
Shortstop Jalin Flores kickstarted the offense with a run-scoring extra-base hit in the first.
Three batters later, outfielder Tommy Farmer IV drove home Flores with a double of his own to push the lead to 2-0.
In the second, Flores padded Texas' early advantage with his second RBI in as many innings, bringing home catcher Rylan Galvan.
