AUSTIN, Texas—Senior Lashann Higgs paced all scorers with a 20-point outing and sophomore Destiny Littleton set a new career-high, scoring 15 points as the No. 11/8 Texas women's basketball team defeated Duquesne, 78-41, on Thursday night at the Frank Erwin Center.
Higgs got off to a quick start, scoring the first five points of the game for the Longhorns, as Texas jumped out to a 24-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Active hands and stout defense from the Longhorns forced Duquesne to commit 10 turnovers, while holding the Dukes to just five made field goals on 19 percent shooting in the first half.
