AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Tech made a pitching change before Texas' third batter of the first inning stepped to the plate. It was a bit of foreshadowing of things during the Longhorns' 11-0 win on Sunday afternoon to conclude the weekend's Bevo Classic.
The No. 11/8 Red Raiders (8-3) made three pitching changes over the course of the game's five innings with only Brenlee Gonzales able to retire three consecutive Longhorn batters and that came after she entered the circle in the bottom of the fourth following a Reese Atwood home run and Katie Stewart double.
