AUSTIN, Texas — Sophomore Ethan Mendoza delivered a go-ahead two-run triple in the eighth, as No. 11 Texas won its 14th straight game with a 7-4 victory over UT Arlington on Tuesday.
With the game deadlocked at 3-3 in the eighth, the Longhorns (14-1) showed off their patented Texas Fight at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Center fielder Will Gasparino and catcher Rylan Galvan both reached safely to lead off the frame, setting the stage for Mendoza.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound second baseman shot a liner down the right field line to plate the eventual game-winning runs.
