WACO, Texas – No. 10 Texas Baseball took down Baylor, 4-3, to clinch the first Big 12 Conference series of the season on Saturday at Baylor Ballpark.
Aaron Nixon recorded his second-straight save, pitching the ninth inning and allowing one run on two hits. He struck out Baylor's Jared McKenzie to end the game and secure the series win.
The Longhorns (14-5, 2-0) and Bears went back and for through the early innings before Texas grabbed the lead for good in the sixth on DJ Petrinsky's two-run single.
Tristan Stevens pitched six solid innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits to pick up his second win of the season.
