AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1 Texas Volleyball's Brionne Butler has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Tuesday.
Butler was a dominant force in the middle, finishing with 17 blocks and 21 kills during the two wins over No. 3 Baylor. The junior MB hit a team-high .419, averaging 2.10 kills per set, while also averaging 1.70 blocks. In last Friday's five-set win, Butler had a career high-tying 11 total blocks.
This is Butler's fifth career award and her third as Defensive Player of the Week.
